Prime contractor responsibilities: First aid
The prime contractor is responsible for coordinating health and safety on a multiple-employer worksite. This includes responsibilities for workplace first aid.
As a prime contractor of a multiple-employer workplace, you must:
-
Conduct a first aid assessment. This assessment must consider the hazard rating and number of workers who will be present on site, across all employers.
-
Ensure the correct levels of first aid equipment, supplies, facilities, and attendants are provided.
You should also make sure that everyone in your workplace is aware of their first aid roles and responsibilities.
