Find your assigned hazard rating
WorkSafeBC assigns a hazard rating based on the typical risks and hazards of your workplace and the work performed. Your assigned hazard rating is low, medium, or high.
Occasionally, you may not be able to find a hazard rating for the type of work being done at your workplace. In this case, use a hazard rating associated with a comparable industry.
Find your classification unit (CU) and its hazard rating
Hazard ratings are associated with a classification unit (CU). You can find your CU by using the Workplace hazard ratings list. Each CU has an assigned hazard rating of low, medium, or high.
Your hazard rating is also on the assessment letter that WorkSafeBC sends you every year.
For some employers, you may need to review your hazard rating. Follow this step if you have situations at your workplace that allow or require you to modify your assigned hazard rating.
