Chiropractors

When a person has a work-related injury or disease, we help them get the health care and rehabilitation services they need. This may include consultation with a chiropractor in our network of contracted chiropractic providers. Our Chiropractic Services Agreement explains what treatments we cover.

Becoming a provider

In order to provide chiropractic services to injured workers, you must have a contract with WorkSafeBC. If you do not have a contract, learn how to become a contracted provider.

Chiropractic guidelines

Our chiropractic treatment model provides a structured, standardized approach to care. It emphasizes assessment, treatment, and education to help workers recover and return to their pre-injury work as safely and quickly as possible.

You'll find more information about our treatment and clinical guidelines, and about working with us, in these documents:

If the person's claim is pending but you feel that treatment cannot wait, you can do an initial assessment and submit the Chiropractor’s First Report (Form 8C) to us. Please let the worker know that they may be responsible for costs if their claim is not accepted.

If the claim is accepted after treatment begins, please follow these two steps:

  1. Reimburse the worker for any additional treatment sessions after the initial visit.
  2. Bill us for the treatment sessions based on our fee schedule.

Once a claim is accepted, we will pay for up to 11 sessions within 8 weeks for a musculoskeletal injury claim if the initial visit occurred within 60 days of the injury. If later than that, WorkSafeBC approval is required.
