Find training: Approved training providers for asbestos abatement certification

WorkSafeBC is implementing mandatory training for asbestos abatement workers to help keep you safe from the dangers of asbestos. As of January 1, 2024, anyone doing asbestos abatement work in B.C. will need to have certification that they have completed this training from an approved training provider.

Please contact training providers directly to learn more about their asbestos abatement training offerings, including dates, length of training, location, and cost. Unless otherwise stated, the training providers listed here offer training to anyone in B.C. aged 18 years and older.

Recognition of previous training

If you previously completed an asbestos training course from an approved training provider in B.C. (since January 1, 2020), you may be able to get full or partial credit toward certification. Contact your training provider to find out more.

If you already have an asbestos training certificate from another province, contact Certification Services to find out if it is valid for work in B.C.
