Speaking up about safety

A bot can't see what's happening in your workplace. Your boss can. When you speak up about safety it shows initiative and confidence. Because looking out for your own safety, and for the safety of your co-workers, is part of your job.

Employers and workers are required to follow workplace health and safety regulations, and public health orders and direction.

It is your employer’s responsibility to have policies and procedures in place to eliminate or minimize the risk of bullying, harassment, and violence in the workplace.

Talk about safety at work

Talking about safety at work, asking for training, and bringing up concerns to your boss can be hard, but it’s important. Employers are responsible for providing adequate training and orientation before you start work to help ensure that everyone stays safe on the job.

If you have a question or safety concern, talk to your boss — they're there to help.
