Request for changes to the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation

Under the Workers Compensation Act (Act), WorkSafeBC is given authority for occupational health and safety, including the power to make regulations. Section 115  of the Act requires WorkSafeBC to undertake a process of ongoing review and consultation on its regulations to ensure consistency with current practices and technological advances. WorkSafeBC reviews and updates its regulations on a regular basis to meet its obligations under the Act.

In developing the regulatory amendment workplan, WorkSafeBC considers requests from a number of sources, including external stakeholders. If you have a request for an amendment to the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation, you can submit it online, or by email, fax, or mail:

  • Organization (if applicable)
  • Email
  • The Part and section/subsection number(s) for which you are requesting an amendment, or indicate if this is a new item.
  • The nature of the problem to be solved and the rationale for the proposed change, as well as the outcome the proposed amendment is intended to achieve.

Your request will be reviewed by WorkSafeBC staff. Staff from the Policy, Regulation and Research Department may contact you to discuss your request; however, due to the number of requests received, the Policy, Regulation and Research Department will not be able to respond individually to all submissions.
