Consultation on the proposed Joint Health and Safety Committee Evaluation Tool

WorkSafeBC has prepared a draft Joint Health and Safety Committee Evaluation Tool, in anticipation of possible changes to the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation (the “Regulation”).

WorkSafeBC’s governing body, the Board of Directors, approved public hearings on proposed regulatory changes, including proposed changes regarding joint health and safety committees. If approved, proposed new section 3.26 of the Regulation will require an annual written evaluation for each of an employer’s joint health and safety committees.

The draft evaluation tool includes questions to address all of the information required by proposed section 3.26 of the Regulation. Proposed section 3.26 is not expected to mandate the use of this particular evaluation tool.

Note that the draft evaluation tool will not be considered as part of the public hearings on proposed regulatory changes.

The deadline for feedback is 4:30 p.m., Friday October 7, 2016.

This consultation is now closed.

Stakeholders are invited to provide feedback on the draft evaluation tool via email or mail.
