BC Forest Safety Council

The BC Forest Safety Council develops and delivers relevant courses, services, programs, and resources to a provincial standard. Courses within the program are suited to supervisors and workers.

Certification

Dangerous tree risk assessment

If a worker will be exposed to a dangerous tree through his or her job, the tree must be felled or a risk assessment must be completed. Only a person with suitable training can make the assessment and advise on managing the hazard.

Manual faller

In B.C., any worker who fells a tree larger than six inches in diameter must be certified to the BC Faller Training Standard (BCFTS).
