Training for first aid attendants and instructors is available through training agencies authorized by WorkSafeBC.

First aid training agency agreements

WorkSafeBC authorizes trainers that provide occupational first aid training and certification in accordance with the Workers Compensation Act and the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation. These trainers meet the requirements of the Regulation and maintain the standard of first aid training and certification required by B.C. employers.

There are two training and certification agency registration agreements. One is for training providers that use WorkSafeBC-developed training and certification materials, and the other is for providers that have developed their own equivalent materials that have been approved by WorkSafeBC, as follows:

1.  First Aid Training and Certification Agency Agreement WorkSafeBC-Developed Course
2.  First Aid Training and Certification Agency Agreement Contractor-Developed Courses

Training providers that offer both WorkSafeBC-developed training and certification materials and their own materials must sign both agreements.
