Appendix B: Protocol for the Assessment of Medical/Scientific Information
At issue was a review of policy on activity-related soft tissue disorders (“ASTDs”), such as carpal tunnel syndrome and bursitis. The aim of this review was to:
- ensure that policy was consistent with current medical/scientific evidence and terminology; and
- consolidate and clarify guidance on adjudication of ASTD claims.
