The Workers Compensation Act (Act) is the foundation for occupational health and safety in British Columbia. The Act also authorizes WorkSafeBC to create the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation and other regulations. 

WorkSafeBC also administers the application of Canada's Hazardous Products Act in British Columbia.
