Certificates accepted in B.C.

The first aid certificates shown here are accepted in B.C. workplaces. These examples should help you determine if a worker has proper certification to be a first aid attendant.

Certificates are listed in reverse alphabetical order according to the name of the issuing agency (in other words, from Z to A).

WorkSafeBC - Level 3 - Paramedic in Industry

The Paramedic In Industry certificate is issued by the First Aid and CPR Training Providers of B.C., upon completion of a homestudy component and 4-hour workshop. The holder of a Paramedic In Industry certificate must also possess a valid Emergency Medical Assistant (EMA) License (see samples below) in order to work as a first aid attendant in industry. Acceptable EMA Licenses are "Emergency Medical Responder," "Primary Care Paramedic," "Acute Care Paramedic," and "Critical Care Paramedic."
