New online expense-reimbursement request tool now available to workers
The tool allows workers to easily submit reimbursement requests at any time.
If you’re injured, you may need to pay for health care services or medication shortly after your injury. In most cases, it’s best to use your WorkSafeBC Pharmacy Benefits Card or visit a contracted health care provider who can bill us directly. In some other cases, you may have to pay upfront and seek reimbursement from us later.
For expenses that need to be reimbursed, we’ve launched a revamped online tool to help you get repaid quickly and easily. The new tool is now available and can be accessed through online services.
Online tool is available 24/7
To access the tool, log in to your online services account from your computer or mobile device. If you don’t have an account, you can watch this short video or download Creating an online services account as a worker to learn how to create one.
In the tool, you’ll need to fill out a few details about your expense(s) and upload an image of your receipt(s). For prescription medication, you’ll need to use the official pharmacy receipt.
In most cases, the tool replaces the need for any paper forms. However, certain expenses, such as mileage, meal per diems, and expenses paid in foreign currency are not supported by the tool. Visit our health care benefits page to learn more.
Enroll in direct deposit to ensure fast and seamless payment
Direct deposit is available to anyone who receives benefit payments and has a Canadian bank account. Please sign up for direct deposit online or through our Claims Call Centre:
- To set up your direct deposit online, log in to online services or create an account. If you don’t already have an online services account, see Creating an online services account as a worker for more information.

Use your pharmacy benefits card if possible
Once your claim is accepted, you’ll receive a WorkSafeBC Pharmacy Benefits Card, which you can use to pay for pre-approved prescriptions directly.
While the card may not fit every worker’s needs, it’s typically the simplest and most convenient method of covering your injury-related prescription medications.
By presenting the card and your claim number at the pharmacy, you can access pre-approved prescriptions without paying out of pocket, easing the financial burden of treatment and saving you the time and effort of requesting reimbursement later.
