BOD Decision -2012/10/11-04 – Amendments to Requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation

At its October 2012 meeting, WorkSafeBC’s Board of Directors approved amendments to the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation.

These amendments became effective on February 1, 2013.

Strikethrough versions of the amendments with explanatory notes can be accessed to the right. Deletions in the regulatory amendments are identified with a strikethrough and additions are in bold text and highlighted in yellow.

 The amendments were taken to public consultations in the fall of 2011 and to public hearings in May‑June 2012. Stakeholder feedback received during the public hearing process is available for review.

Amendments to Part 5, Chemical Agents and Biological Agents - relating to correcting the reference to combustible dust and updating the reference to the Electrical Code, and Part 11, Fall Protection – relating to clarifying whether fall protection anchors must be re-certified annually by a professional engineer in all circumstances, will be taken to the Board of Directors for a decision at a later date.
