If you’re self-employed as a proprietor and your spouse works in your business as a paid employee, your spouse is eligible for Voluntary Spousal Coverage. Without this coverage, your spouse is not covered by any form of workers’ compensation insurance. “Spouse” includes a common-law spouse.
