Building Capacity of Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committees: Creating an Innovative Web-based Tool

Joint Health and Safety Committees (JHSCs) are a required component of occupational health and safety programs in Canada. This project aimed to develop and evaluate an interactive online tool for training JHSCs

Although JHSCs are a mandated component of health and safety programs in Canada, guidance for the processes and procedures for successfully running a JHSC can be difficult to access. The researchers developed and evaluated an online training program for JHSCs, from fundamental health and safety concepts through to roles and responsibilities of members, investigations procedures, and recommendations

The tool is online at http://innovation.ghrp.ubc.ca/johsc/
