WorkSafeBC is a Builders Code partner

Published on: March 27, 2019

WorkSafeBC is pleased to be a partner in the Builders Code, an initiative to set a standard code of conduct for workers on construction sites in B.C.

The Builders Code is intended to help construction employers communicate a reasonable, consistent expectation of behaviour to reduce risk and ensure a safe and productive environment for all workers. It expands the definition of construction safety beyond physical hazards to include stress or distraction caused by discrimination, bullying, hazing, or harassment.

WorkSafeBC supports the Builders Code in sharing tools to address inappropriate worksite behaviour and improve worksite safety and reduce the likelihood of workplace incidents, as well as helping employers, supervisors, and workers understand their shared responsibility to prevent workplace bullying and harassment.
