The North American Occupational Safety and Health (NAOSH) Week (also known as Safety and Health Week) is an annual, continent-wide event where employers, workers, and all partners in occupational health and safety collaborate to promote injury and illness prevention in the workplace.

2018 National Launch coming to Victoria, B.C.

Join us on May 7 for the official national launch of NAOSH Week. The event will begin at the Fairmont Empress Hotel in Victoria, B.C. and then move to the B.C. Legislature with activities to follow in Victoria’s Inner Harbour.

Participation certificates and awards

Every year, organizations throughout B.C. that participate in NAOSH Week receive a certificate and have the opportunity to apply for an award. Certificates are mailed in October and the awards winners are acknowledged at an awards luncheon. The deadline for 2018 award applications and requests for Certificates of Participation is June 2018. There are award categories for a wide range of industries and for large and small businesses. In addition to these industry awards, there are also awards for:

2018 CSSE BC/Yukon Region Achievement Recognition Awards

Canadian Society of Safety Engineering (CSSE)

NAOSH Week is led by the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering (CSSE) — a safety practitioner organization that works with industry, government, and other safety organizations, to promote a greater awareness of health, safety and environmental issues in workplaces and communities.

Giving credit for effort and innovation

Now in its 27th year, the B.C./Yukon Region of the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering (CSSE) is calling for submissions for the 2018 Achievement Recognition Awards.

These awards recognize excellence, professionalism, and expertise in occupational health and safety for both CSSE members and non-members, too. There are several awards available both for individuals and organizations who have contributed significantly to the workplace, as well as numerous special awards.

Awards will be presented at the BC CSSE/NAOSH Week Safety Forum and Awards Dinner (details below).
