Upcoming amendments to the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation

New and revised regulatory requirements affecting multiple industries will come into effect on December 1.
In May and July of 2021, WorkSafeBC’s Board of Directors approved amendments to the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation. These amendments will come into effect on December 1, 2021, and will apply to the following areas:
- Combustible and flammable liquids (Parts 1, 5, 22, and 23)
- Ionizing radiation — dose limits for the lens of the eye (Part 7)
- Traffic control (Part 18)
- Certification of concrete pump operators (Part 20)
- Blasting operations (Part 21)
- Arborists (Part 26)
- Logging truck load securement (Part 26)
- Housekeeping amendments (Parts 14, 24, and 25)
