On October 23, 2019 the Board of Directors approved amendments to the Permanent Disability Evaluation Schedule (PDES) in the Rehabilitation Services & Claims Manual, Volume II to, to update conditions to ensure the PDES reflects best practices for assessment and diagnosis.

The amendments include:

• Setting the rating for comminuted calcaneal fractures at 7%;
• Clarifying ratings for nerve root and peripheral nervous system conditions affecting part of the nerve’s distribution; and
• Making minor editorial changes.

The amended policies apply to all decisions made on or after December 1, 2019.
