Bid opportunities

We follow a fair, open, and competitive process with suppliers interested in doing business with us. Our goal is to obtain the best value for products and services. You can view WorkSafeBC bid opportunities, see awarded bids, and submit bid responses online at BC Bid. In addition, we post some opportunities on the WorkSafeBC Bid Opportunities portal (previously called the Supplier Portal). Be sure to review our procurement policies and terms before submitting your bid response.

The bid documents posted for each opportunity provide the information you need to submit a valid response for evaluation, as each bid document is unique to each opportunity.

If you're submitting a bid response, please check BC Bid regularly for any addenda, amendments, or Q&As we may post in addition to the original bid documents. These may be posted up to the time of the bid closing.

When preparing your bid response, be sure to follow the format requested in the bid documents. This will help ensure your submission is valid.

How to use BC Bid

    Register

    To access BC Bid, you’ll need to register for an account. To register, you’ll need a Business BCeID, a process which could take up to several weeks. For more information, please go to BC Bid.

    View opportunities

    Our bid opportunities are posted on BC Bid. You can use BC Bid to view, download, respond to, and manage responses to WorkSafeBC opportunities. To see WorkSafeBC opportunities when you’re on BC Bid:

    • Select Find an opportunity, which will allow you to explore all the current opportunities.
    • Search WorkSafeBC under the Organization field to view our current bid opportunities.

    Submit a bid response

    Bid documents always list the closing date and time for submissions, and explain when, where, and how to submit your bid.

    To submit a bid electronically, you need an account on BC Bid. Once you’re registered, you can submit or revise responses to bids, and attach and manage documents.

    After a bid is closed

    You can check Contract Awards in BC Bid to see when a bid has been awarded and the successful bidder(s).

WorkSafeBC Bid Opportunities portal

We occasionally post select bid opportunities on the WorkSafeBC Bid Opportunities portal. You can use the portal to view opportunities and submit bid responses.

How to use our portal

  1. View opportunities
    You can view opportunities on the portal without logging in. To see more information about an opportunity, select the Details icon next to it.

  2. Register as a supplier
    To respond to a bid on our portal, you must first register as a supplier by completing our Supplier Registration Form and creating an account for your organization. The form will ask you to provide basic information about your organization and your contact details. After you’ve submitted the form, you’ll receive an email with your user ID and a link to reset the password for your portal account.

  3. View and submit bid documents
    Once you have registered as a supplier, you can log in to the portal. From there, you can search for bid numbers from the list, view and download bid documents, and submit bid responses.

    The bid documents posted for each opportunity provide the information you need to submit a valid response for evaluation, as each bid document is unique to each opportunity. Please read the instructions in the bid documents carefully.

    If you're submitting a bid response, please check our portal regularly for any addenda, amendments, or Q&As we may post in addition to the original bid documents. These additional documents may be posted up to the bid’s closing time.

    When preparing your bid response, be sure to follow the format requested in the bid documents. This will help ensure your submission is valid.

  4. Submit a bid response
    Bid documents always list the closing date and time for submissions and explain how to submit your bid. Please ensure you read all attachments fully. When viewing a bid opportunity, select the Create Response button to submit your bid.

    You can also save your draft responses and complete them later by selecting Manage Responses.

Request for bid debriefing

Our procurement process is done in a fair, open, and transparent manner. If your bid is unsuccessful, you can request a bid debriefing.

We’ll explain our evaluation process and how your bid was evaluated based on our criteria. You’ll also get insight into how to improve your future submissions.

Please note: We can only offer a bid debrief within 30 calendar days of the contract award notification.
