On November 20, 2013, the Board of Directors approved amendments to policy item #50.00, Interest, of the Rehabilitation Services & Claims Manual, Volumes I and II. The amendments remove the blatant Board error test from the Interest policy and pay interest on compensation benefits only as set out in the Workers Compensation Act.

These amendments are effective January 1, 2014, and apply to all decisions made on or after January 1, 2014. The blatant Board error test will continue to apply to reconsiderations, reviews or appeals arising from WorkSafeBC decisions made before January 1, 2014.
