Training and certification requirements are now in effect for asbestos abatement work to help keep workers safe from the dangers of asbestos. As of January 1, 2024, anyone performing asbestos abatement work must complete mandatory safety training from an approved provider.

This resource sets out the core competencies that training providers for Level 3 asbestos abatement will be required to cover in their courses to be approved by WorkSafeBC. Please note: The requirements are subject to change.
