The Panel made a decision to repeal Sections 8, 9 and 9.1 of the Fishing Industry Regulations. These provisions date from the 1970s and relate to occupational health and safety matters. They have been superseded by a number of statutory and regulatory developments with respect to occupational health and safety, in particular the Workers Compensation (Occupational Health and Safety) Amendment Act, 1998 (Bill 14) and the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation. The repeal comes into force 90 days after deposit with the Registrar of Regulations.
