Appendix D: Brief Summary of the Findings in the Systematic Review

Schedule B of the Workers Compensation Act ("Act") provided a presumption of work causation in favour of a worker who developed primary cancer of the skin where there was prolonged contact with coal tar products, arsenic or cutting oils, or prolonged exposure to solar ultraviolet light.

At issue was whether the descriptions contained in Schedule B of the Act relating to primary skin cancer were up to date and supportable based on the most current medical science.
