On November 14, 2025, WorkSafeBC’s Board of Directors revised policy on commutations in the Rehabilitation Services & Claims Manual, Volume II. The monetary threshold for when periodic payments for permanent disability benefits can be automatically commuted to a lump sum payment is increased from $200 to $350. In addition to the threshold change, other non-substantive policy revisions clarify existing policy, update language, and remove unnecessary practice direction.

The revised policy applies to all decisions made on or after February 1, 2026.
