The ongoing review of Occupational Health and Safety ("OHS") policies identified an obsolete policy, R20.40-1. The policy required concrete pump outriggers to be extended as far as possible when they could not be fully extended. This could potentially lead to outrigger failure.

At their May 2012 meeting, WorkSafeBC’s Board of Directors approved the deletion of the policy from the Prevention Manual, effective July 1, 2012.

OHS Guideline G20.40 addresses the issue more comprehensively and does not require partial extension of outriggers.
