Archived Prevention Manual - December 1, 2014 - December 31, 2014

This edition of the Prevention Manual reflects the following updates.

Board of Directors approves amendments to Occupational Health and Safety High Risk Policy D12-196-2, effective December 1, 2014

At its October 2014 meeting, WorkSafeBC's Board of Directors approved amendments to the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) High Risk Policy (D12-196-2). The amendments become effective on December 1, 2014. The Board of Directors' resolution is available for reference.

The amendments establish six designated high risk violations and simplify the criteria for determining whether other violations are high risk, for the purposes of OHS penalties and warning letters.

A preliminary issue version of OHS Guideline G-D12-196-2 (available December 1, 2014), providing practice information regarding the policy, is also available. (OHS Guidelines generally provide information to help interpret and apply the Workers Compensation Act, Occupational Health and Safety Regulation, and OHS policy.)
