Joint Prevention of Workplace Violence: Creating an Innovative Web-based Tool

This project aimed to develop a practical, operational tool to guide workplace violence prevention programs. The objectives were to design, develop, and implement tools to guide Internet-based workplace violence prevention initiatives

The researchers created an online tool that occupational health and safety teams can use to develop a violence prevention plan that is tailored to their workplace. The tool assists with setting up a risk assessment team and identifying the violence risks that exist within the workplace, then provides relevant prevention of violence good practice resources based on the results

The Prevention of Violence website was pilot tested, and is now freely accessible at http://innovation.ghrp.ubc.ca/povdemo/
