Immersion suits
Cold water and drowning are two major hazards in the fishing industry. Immersion suits help reduce the risk to workers who have to abandon ship because of a fire, flood, or other vessel emergency. Employers must provide immersion suits where required and ensure workers are trained in their proper use.
For information on the safe use of immersion suits, see the following resources.
