Changes coming to online services login

Published on: April 23, 2026

As part of WorkSafeBC’s ongoing commitment to strengthen online security and protect sensitive personal and business information, we’re introducing enhancements to our online services login.

These updates are designed to improve access to online services accounts for injured workers, employers, and providers, while enhancing ease of use and strengthening our data security measures.

What’s changing?

Beginning May 15, two‑factor authentication will be mandatory when you sign in to your online services account. Two‑factor authentication adds an extra security step by asking you to confirm your identity with a one‑time code (sent to your email or phone) in addition to entering your password.

With mandatory two-factor authentication coming soon, shared logins will no longer be supported. Each user must have their own account. If you currently share access, please create an individual online services account by following the instructions below.

Note: Two-factor authentication has been optional since 2024. If you’ve already opted in to this feature for your WorkSafeBC online services account, then there will be no change.

Trusted partner login will go live on April 24. This feature enables you to log in to online services using trusted credentials from your BC Services Card Account or through an Interac® verification service.

This feature is optional; you can still access your online portal the same way you always have with your username and password.

Note: Your trusted partner email address must match your WorkSafeBC online services email address to access your account. If you’re an employer or provider and are unsure whether your emails match, we recommend logging in using the existing email and password option.

Shared logins: How to prepare for two-factor authentication

Shared logins will no longer be supported with mandatory two‑factor authentication. Please follow these steps to set up your individual login in preparation for two-factor authentication.

Employers, workers, and providers

If you currently share an online services login:

  1. The account administrator should log in to the online services account using the current username and password to grant access to additional users.
  2. Under For administrators, select Grant access to another user.
  3. Enter the individual’s email address, then select Continue.

The next step depends on whether the person you're granting access to already has an online services profile.

If the individual already has an online services profile:

  1. Follow the prompts to grant access to the selected account and online tools.
  2. Click Continue. Access will be granted.

If the individual does not have an online services profile:

  1. Enter the required information (name and phone number) and select Continue.
  2. Follow the prompts to grant access to the selected account and online tools.
  3. The individual will receive an email to set their password. Access is granted once the password is set.

Telus Providers

If you currently share a WorkSafeBC Provider Portal (Telus) login, you will need to:

  1. Create your own online services account:
    1. Go to online.worksafebc.com
    2. Select Sign up and enter the required information, including your own email address.
    3. Verify your email address when prompted.
    4. Create a password to complete account setup.

Important: This step creates a basic online services account.

  1. Request Provider Portal access to your online service account
    • Your organization’s administrator must email provider.mgmt5@telus.com with the following:
      • New WorkSafeBC online services account email address
      • Head office provider ID
      • Service location name
      • User role
        • Specify clinician or administrative user
        • If clinician, also include license and license issuer
  2. Receive confirmation that Provider Portal access is enabled.
    • Allow two to three business days for processing
    • You will receive a confirmation email from Telus once WorkSafeBC Provider Portal (Telus) access is enabled.

If you experience issues accessing the WorkSafeBC Provider Portal (Telus), please contact TELUS Health Solutions at 1.855.284.5900.
