New poster illustrates ways to prevent slips, trips, and falls in manufacturing workplaces

Published on: May 10, 2019

From 2013 to 2017, there were more than 5,000 slip, trip, and fall injuries in manufacturing — 1,000 of which were serious injuries.

Everyone has a role to play in preventing slip, trip, and fall injuries in the workplace. Manufacturing safety: Preventing slips, trips, and falls is a new poster that illustrates steps you can take to prevent these injuries in your workplace. It also highlights the responsibilities employers and workers have when it comes to workplace health and safety.

Pin the poster on a wall or bulletin board in your workplace as a visual reminder of how you can prevent slip, trip, and fall injuries. You can also use the poster as an aid or discussion point at your next safety talk or joint health and safety committee meeting.

This poster has also been translated into Chinese (simplified and traditional), Korean, Punjabi, Spanish, Filipino, and Vietnamese.

Slip, trip, and fall prevention is an additional focus area of the 2019 Manufacturing High Risk Strategy. For more information about risks and hazards in the manufacturing industry, visit worksafebc.com/manufacturing.
