Amendments to Part 8 of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation will take effect on November 6, 2026.

The amendments update language related to tight-fitting respirators, including fit tests, user seal checks, and anything that may interfere with the seal or proper functioning of the respirator.

The changes improve clarity and align the Regulation with current respiratory protection terminology. The core safety requirements for respiratory protection are not changing.
