New slide show illustrates the risks of riding as a passenger on forklifts

Published on: December 21, 2022

Employers: Protect your workers by allowing only the operator to ride a forklift.

Riding as a passenger on a forklift is prohibited in most cases. It can expose workers to risks such as falling off, being struck by objects, or being crushed between the forklift and another object.

This incident investigation slide show uses a combination of real-life photos and animation to illustrate an incident where a worker was injured after falling off while riding on the side of a forklift. It reminds employers and workers of the dangers of riding as a passenger on a forklift, and also highlights the importance of adequately training forklift operators.
