New video highlights how process safety can protect workers and communities

Industrial processes can be complex in manufacturing and oil and gas production facilities. If these processes get out of control or breach their containment pipes and vessels, consequences can include fire, explosion, and toxic releases into the workplace and the surrounding community.

Process safety management focuses on preventing these outcomes by proactively managing the risks of fires, explosions, chemical releases, and structural collapses.

Process Safety: Managing Risk in High-Hazard Sectors shows how some B.C. employers have incorporated process safety into their operations to prevent catastrophic events and protect their workers and communities. They share the steps that make their process safety management systems effective, including process hazard analysis and regular system audits.
