Face shields can be used for added protection in the workplace, but cannot replace face masks.

Many employers and workers have asked if face shields can be used in the workplace during the COVID-19 pandemic. Selecting and using face shields in non–health care settings clarifies that, while you can use face shields for added protection, they do not replace face masks and other prevention measures.
