The Effect of Environmental Exposure on the Performance of Fall Arrest Systems
Reliable mechanical performance of fall arrest systems is critical for their effectiveness in preventing injuries. Environmental exposure such as UV light, abrasion, dirt and debris, cuts, and weld spatter or burns can significantly affect the failure strength and energy-absorbing capabilities of these systems
This research will study the effect of environmental exposure and worksite mechanical factors on the energy absorbing capabilities and failure strength of energy-absorbing lanyards
