The recent tragic explosions and fires in two B.C. sawmills have caused significant concerns for the sawmill industry. WorkSafeBC is committed to sharing all pertinent information that emerges during the course of our investigations. We have provided regular updates to industry on our progress as well as two new hazard alerts.
Referral to Crown Counsel
At the conclusion of the two investigations, WorkSafeBC referred its findings to Crown Counsel for consideration of charges under the Workers Compensation Act. Read the November 29, 2012 news release for more information.
