Evidence-based medicine & systematic reviews
Recovering at work is an important part of a person's medical treatment and rehabilitation. As most people can perform productive work during their recovery, we apply this philosophy in a collaborative process with injured workers, employers and health care providers. All of our treatment guidelines are based on the latest medical and scientific information.

Evidence-based medicine
We rely on the latest medical information to guide our approach. We have a team that researches various treatments and practices, to gather evidence-based insight into recovery-at-work programs.
Our team identifies topics for review that will clarify or alter existing practices. The most current research drives decisions. The results are shared with WorkSafeBC officers and health care providers.
Our working group involves surgeons, medical specialists, and rehabilitation providers in this process. Together, we analyze many studies and research papers to determine best practices.
Since 2007, our Evidence-Based Practice Group has been a partner organization to Cochrane Canada, the national centre of the Cochrane Collaboration.
The Cochrane Collaboration is a worldwide network of people helping health care providers, policy makers, patients, and their advocates and caregivers. The organization promotes well-informed decisions about health care.
