Hazard Recognition With Tree Falling in Coastal British Columbia: Training With 3D and Degraded Visual Imagery

Because of the visual complexity of forest settings and the potential for degraded visual conditions, including meteorological characteristics, to affect work safety, results of the NIOSH research came to the attention of the B.C. forest industry. To examine whether training with 3D images of hazards under degraded visual conditions could be useful for improving hazard recognition in coastal falling, an exploratory study was undertaken.
