New and Young Worker Safety for Supervisors

This web book, viewable online from a computer or mobile device, focuses on the need for supervisors to:

  • Recognize that new and young workers have special supervisory needs
  • Apply a four-step process for training new and young workers (prepare, demonstrate and describe, observe, check progress)
  • Use specific, age-appropriate strategies for training young workers (e.g., keep it interesting, incorporate multimedia where possible, encourage questions, focus on the why)
