The purpose of this research study was to identify occupational risk factors for ovarian cancer. In addition, this study was aimed at providing up-to-date information on non-occupational risk factors (such as reproductive history, family history of cancer, and lifestyle factors).

This project was the first phase of a larger research study. A total of 1167 participants were recruited, and the researchers collected data about their work histories and other relevant information. Participants' exposure to chemicals in the workplace were then estimated by linking their work histories with estimates of typical exposures for different types of jobs.
