Workers Compensation Act

The Workers Compensation Amendment Act, 2020 (Bill 23) eliminated the mandated 90-day waiting period before amendments to Schedule 1 approved by the Board of Directors came into effect. As a result, amendments to Schedule 1 regarding infections caused by communicable viral pathogens took effect August 20, 2020.

Workers Compensation Act

The Workers Compensation Amendment Act, 2020 (Bill 23) came into effect on August 14, 2020, enacting multiple amendments to the Workers Compensation Act. Included are changes relating to compensation, assessment, and occupational health and safety matters.

Workers Compensation Act

A revised version of the Workers Compensation Act came into effect on April 6, 2020. The changes include a reorganization of the Act's components, revised wording in some sections, and deletion of provisions that have been repealed or are no longer needed. Although all section numbers have changed, the revisions do not change B.C.'s laws concerning workers' compensation, occupational health and safety, or employers' assessment premiums.

Workers Compensation Act

In accordance with section 25.2(1) of the Act, dollar amounts referred to in the following sections are adjusted. [B.C. Reg. 241/2019, effective January 1, 2020]
