On October 21, 2016, the Board of Directors approved an extension policy item D2-111-4 of the Prevention Manual. The interim policy applies to all decisions made on or after February 15, 2016 and expires on December 31, 2017.

The updates to these guidelines provide interim guidance for the enforcement of the current OHS Regulation given changes to the Tobacco Control Act and Tobacco Control Regulation that come into force on September 1, 2016. The interim changes to these guidelines are effective for the period between September 1, 2016 and the proposed May 1, 2017 effective date for amendments to OHS Regulation sections 4.81 and 4.82.
