Proposed revisions to the Workers Compensation Act

Published on: June 27, 2018

The B.C. government has recently proposed changes to the language and numbering of the Workers Compensation Act. The proposed changes are not intended to change the Act's legal effect. Rather, they are intended to make the Act easier to read and understand, and to reorganize it so that specific laws are easier to find.

If approved, the ministry will bring the revised Act into force on a future date to be determined. In preparation for this, we are in the process of updating key WorkSafeBC materials to ensure they will reflect the revised Act when it comes into force.

To learn more about the revisions, read the announcement from the B.C. government, which includes a link to the proposed revised Workers Compensation Act.
