Proposed revisions to the Workers Compensation ActPublished on: June 27, 2018
The B.C. government has recently proposed changes to the language and numbering of the Workers Compensation Act. The proposed changes are not intended to change the Act's legal effect. Rather, they are intended to make the Act easier to read and understand, and to reorganize it so that specific laws are easier to find.
If approved, the proposed revised Act is expected to come into force on March 1, 2019. In preparation for this, we are in the process of updating key WorkSafeBC materials to ensure they will reflect the revised Act when it comes into force.
