November 2005 Public Hearing Details

The Board of Directors, at their September 13, 2005 meeting, approved the release of proposed amendments to the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation to a public hearing. The public hearing will provide stakeholders with another opportunity to comment on the proposed regulatory amendments. Feedback on the proposed regulatory amendments received during the public hearing will be presented to the Board of Directors for their consideration.

The public hearing has been scheduled as follows:

Date:	Thursday, November 3, 2005
Location:	Four Points by Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel 8368 Alexandra Road Richmond, BC
Session times:	2:00 to 5:00 p.m. 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Formal notice of the public hearing, as required under Section 226 of the Workers Compensation Act, will be provided in the latter part of September 2005.

There are 12 regulatory amendment packages under review. Relevant information for each regulatory amendment item is provided below. This includes:

an overview of the proposed regulatory changes;
proposed amendments including explanatory notes. Proposed deletions of regulatory amendments are identified with a strikethrough and additions are identified in bold;
clean version of the proposed amendments;
proposed associated guidelines.

Registration is required if you would like to participate in the public hearing. Oral or written comments on the proposed amendments can be provided at the public hearing, or alternatively can be submitted in writing to the Policy and Research Division.
