Release of the 2007 proposed amendments for consultation

December 12, 2006 Update: Additional amendments released for consultation. In December 2006, the Board of Directors approved proposed amendments to Part 3, Rights and Responsibilities, relating to occupational first aid requirements. They are included with the proposed 2007 regulatory amendments which have been released for consultation.

December 7, 2006 Update: Consultation period on the 2007 proposed regulatory amendments has been extended to February 28, 2007.

November 2006 Update: Additional amendments were released for consultation. The Board of Directors approved proposed amendments to Part 4, General Conditions, relating to Working Alone or in Isolation. They are included with the proposed 2007 regulatory amendments which have been released for consultation.

The Board of Directors approved the release of the 2007 proposed amendments to the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation for consultation. The consultation phase provides stakeholders with an opportunity to provide feedback on the proposed amendments. All feedback received will be reviewed and changes made to the proposed amendments, where appropriate, prior to the proposed amendments being taken to a public hearing in May 2007. The Workers Compensation Act requires WorkSafeBC to hold a public hearing before a regulation can be made.

A stakeholder consultation session has been scheduled to provide stakeholders with an opportunity to give feedback in person regarding any of the proposed 2007 amendments. Registration is not required for this session. Details of the consultation session are provided below.
