Policies in Regard to the Workers Compensation Amendment Act, 2002
The Panel of Administrators has approved policy amendments in response to the Workers Compensation Amendment Act, 2002. These policy amendments reflect the legislative changes to benefit entitlement for injured workers, particularly in relation to average earnings, the compensation rate and inflation adjustments. The policy amendments also reflect the legislated requirements for Canada Pension Plan benefits to be integrated and for mental stress claims (with certain exceptions) to be excluded from compensation benefit entitlement.

Authority to Approve Cost of Living Adjustments
The Panel of Administrators has updated past resolutions relating to the assignment of authority to approve cost of living adjustments. The resolution is needed to reflect the approach to making cost of living adjustments outlined in the Workers Compensation Amendment Act, 2002.
