Policy decisions made at the June 9, 1998 WCB Panel of Administrators meeting
The following policy decision was finalized by the WCB Panel of Administrators
on June 9, 1998. For information about the function and mandate

Treatment of sensitive and personal information
The Panel approved an amendment to Policy #99.30 of the Rehabilitation Services and Claims Manual. The amendment clarifies the type of information recorded on claim files and the WCB's treatment of sensitive and personal information.
The policy now makes it clear that the claim file contains all evidence used in the adjudication of the claim. It also identifies that additional information may exist outside of the claim file and sets out a process for deciding whether sensitive information will be placed in the claim file.
The change results from the Information and Privacy Commissioner's suggestion that the Board take steps to clarify its policy.
