Maximum wage rate

Date: July 22, 2004

WHEREAS Section 33 of the Workers Compensation Act requires the Board to determine the maximum wage rate to be applicable for the following calendar year in the manner therein prescribed;

AND WHEREAS the Board is of the opinion that the sum of $61,264.20 represents the same relationship to the sum of $40,000.00 as the annual average of wages and salaries in the Province of British Columbia for the year 2003 bears to the annual average of wages and salaries in the said Province for the year 1984;

AND WHEREAS the said Act provides that the resulting figure may be rounded to the nearest $100.00;

THE BOARD HEREBY DETERMINES that the maximum wage rate to be applicable for the year 2005 under Section 33 of the Workers Compensation Act is $61,300.00;

AND THAT in Subsection (6) of the said Section, the sum of $60,700.00 appearing therein will be changed as at the 1st day of January 2005 to read $61,300.00.
